A training programme on Trainers Training on Vegetable Seed Technology for Homestead Production System by Small Farmers has been organized by FoSHoL-Coordination Project/IRRI during 22-23, May 2008 at BARI, Joydebpur, Gazipur. Thirty field level officers and progressive farmers from FoSHoL projects of ActionAid, CARE and Practical Action are expected to participate in the programme as trainees. They will learn/understand about quality seed production, processing, pest management, germination test, purity analysis, etc. of vegetable seeds through discussion as well as practical demonstrations. Senior scientists from BARI will be involved in the programme as resource persons.
 
Objective:
  1. To improve the capacity of participants on vegetables seed production, processing and storage to imrprove their capacity in seed production at homestead level.
  2. To share information on recent technology on seed production, processing and preservation from BARI and other agencies in preparing a manual of Vegetable Seed Technology for extension workers and farmers.
 
Output:
At the end of training, the participants will improve their confidence and get enough training materials to work as trainers and others on vegetable seed technology.
