A 14-day long training course on Livestock Management for Rural Technology Extensionists (RTE) concluded in Rajbari on February 28, 2007. 12 RTEs from Faridpur, Madaripur, Shariatpur and Rajbari districts participated in the training.
Practical Action organised the training as a part of developing rural technology extensionist under FoSHoL project.
District livestock officer (DLO) of Rajbari Dr. Wazed Ali Chowdhury inaugurated the course at Voluntary Paribar Kalyan Association (VPKA) training centre on February 14. Executive Director of VPKA was present in the inaugural session.
The training course was designed to address practical learning on different aspects of improved livestock management including housing, feeding, disease management, artificial insemination and extension.
DLO of Rajbari, DLO of Faridpur Dr. Narayan Chandra Roy, upazila livestock officer (ULO) of Rajbari Sadar Dr. Hasanuzzaman, ULO of Faridpur Sadar Dr. Md. Haider Ali , ULO of Baliakandi Dr. Shachin Chandra Devnath and veterinary surgeon of Rajbari Sadar facilitated different theoretical and practical sessions of the training course.
At the concluding session, Dr. Wazed Ali Chowdhury was present as chief guest. Practical Action Bangladesh vulnerability reduction and natural resource management unit team leader Mr. Mohammad Ali , area manager of FoSHoL-Practical Action, ULO Dr. Hasanuzzaman also addressed in the concluding session. Mr. Abdus Sattar presided over the closing session.
Veterinary officer of FoSHoL-Practical Action Dr. Azizul Haque Chowdhury coordinated the training course.
