FoSHoL-Coordination Project of IRRI organized a meeting with EC and partner NGOs on November 29, 2006 at IRRI Office to share the draft overall and annual workplan of the FoSHoL-Coordination project developed by IRRI under the new addendum.
The draft Overall (November 2006 to August 2009) and Annual Workplan (November 2006 to October 2009) of FoSHoL-Coordination Project were shared in this meeting.
The Team Leader of FoSHoL-Coordination Project Dr. M. Zainul Abedin made the presentations while EC and partner NGO representatives gave their comments.
Answering to a query of Mr. Anthony Goodwin, Head of Operations Section of EC Delegation to Bangladesh , Dr. Abedin briefed him the differences between the earlier contract and the new amended contract.
Both EC and partners underlined the importance of more inclusiveness and more participation in the new coordination activities. They expected that with the new work plan IRRI would be able to focus more on organizational development and capacity building of partner NGOs so that it would enhance their access to the GO-NGO facilities at the field level to ultimately benefit the household level activities. Partners also expected effective communications and policy advocacy to facilitate and scaling up partner NGOs' work to wider audience. They also sought IRRI's help in building effective partnership and linkages with various government, non-government and private sector organizations.
