| BRRI, scientists presented Fact Sheets for Knowledge Bank |
| |
The FoSHoL project of IRRI Bangladesh in collaboration with Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) has organized a three-day workshop from September 13-15, 2005 at BRRI for finalizing Fact Sheets for the Bangladesh Rice Knowledge Bank (BRKB) based rice production training. Mr. David Shires of IRRI Training Division attended the workshop as the resource person. He made a presentation on the first day on audience analysis and scientific writing for non-scientific audience. Mr. Ahmad Salahuddin, Manager Coordination & Capacity Building (FoSHoL-IRRI) facilitated the workshop.
Scientists from different divisions of BRRI participated in the workshop and presented about 60 Bangla Fact Sheets with farmers as the ultimate audience. The fellow scientists in small groups made their comments on the individual presentation. After incorporating the comments the Fact Sheets will be reviewed by a small group of technical editors before these are uploaded in the BRKB website.
The objective of the whole exercise was to prepare a set of Bangla Fact Sheets for the Bangladesh Rice Knowledge Bank website that helps enhance the quality of training through visual based communication materials like Fact Sheets. This will be used for the first time in the coming Boro season (winter rice) for training the GO-NGO field level extension workers especially within the FoSHoL working areas in Bangladesh . |
